Prom Hairstyles You Can Do Yourself At Home

May 10, 2022

With prom season so quickly approaching, we know you’re eager to rock that stunning dress you’ve picked out on the dance floor already! However, your prom look isn’t complete without the perfect hairstyle to pull it all together. If you’re not loving the price tag associated with a professional hairdresser, or if a time-consuming appointment the morning of just isn’t calling to you, here are some gorgeous prom hairstyles that you can do yourself at home:

Baby Braids

Baby braids have taken over our Instagram feeds -- and we totally get why. This style is easy to master, won’t take you long to do, and allows the majority of your gorgeous locks to roam free. For this look, take a few small pieces of hair near the front of your face and pleat them into a few tiny braids on either side, and you’re good to go!

Half-Up-Half-Down Hairdos

For a relaxed, yet controlled look, half-up-half-down hairdos give you the best of both worlds. You get the laid-back appeal of flowing locks, paired with the structured, styled approach of a neat up-do. For this style, you’ll just need a claw clip, and an elastic band for extra support.

Slicked Ponytail

Slicked ponytails give you a clean, sophisticated look that keeps all your hair neat and away from your face. This look allows you to show off your glam, or rock a statement jewelry piece without any flyaways distracting from it. For this style, tie your hair into a tight ponytail, and use plenty of hair gel to slick it into place. Pro tip: leave a small strand from the back of your head loose, and wrap it around the base of your ponytail to conceal your elastic.
